Production Test on Wi-Fi Scene Switch

Purpose

Test the Wi-Fi function of the module, and the communication capability between the module and the control board.

Scope of application

Scene switches (Wi-Fi type).
The firmware supports the new production test process, and the production test can be repeated.

Test preparation

1. 2.4 GHz signal router: 1
   It must be a 2.4 GHz signal router, with no need to connect to the external network. Just power it on. It is recommended to use TP-LINK 2.4 GHz router.
2. Set the SSID of the router to tuya_mdev_test1. You must ensure that the setup is successful. You can use the Wi-Fi function of your phone to check whether the setup is successful and whether you set a password.
3. Place the router near the product to be tested, about 3-5 meters away from the test frame.
4. The number of non-test routers in the test environment should be as small as possible to speed up the production test.
5. For paired devices, you need to remove the device on the app, wait 10 seconds, and then cut off the power.

Test process

Devices with Wi-Fi indicator:

1. Place the device to be tested near the router and power on.

2. After powering on, please do not perform other operations, but wait for the Wi-Fi indicator of the device to enter the fast flashing state.

3. After the Wi-Fi indicator flashes quickly, click the button once to observe the action of the corresponding indicator. The status of the successful production test is as follows:

   • Click the button once, and the corresponding indicator will be on and off 3 times.

4. After the production test is determined to be successful, the production test process ends, and the device is powered off.

Devices without Wi-Fi indicator:

1. Place the device to be tested near the router and power on.

2. After powering on, please do not perform other operations, but wait for the indicator of the device to enter the fast flashing state.

   • Unpaired when leaving factory: the first indicator flashes fast by default.
   • Once pressed and held to switch the pairing mode: the indicator of the pressed and held button flashes quickly.

3. After the indicator flashes quickly, press the button once and observe the action of the corresponding indicator. The status of successful production test is as follows:

   • Press the button once, and the corresponding indicator will be on and off 3 times.

   • Press the button corresponding to the fast flashing indicator, and the indicator will no longer flash quickly, but the indicator will be on and off 3 times.

4. After the production test is determined to be successful, the production test process ends, and the device is powered off.

Exceptions & solutions

1. The Wi-Fi indicator of the device has entered fast flashing, but when the switch is pressed, the corresponding indicator will act once. Click the button once, and the relay will only act once.

   Reason: The device has not entered the low power state, so it cannot enter the production test.
   Solution: Turn off the production test router, use the mobile app to pair properly, then remove the device, wait 10 seconds, power it off, and then power it on again. At this time, the device will enter the low power mode by default.

2. The Wi-Fi indicator of the device cannot enter fast flashing state.

   Reason: Device failure.
   Solution: Deal with it as a faulty device.
