This topic describes what the delay timer feature is and how it works.

Background

This feature allows users to delay a device turning on or off for a specified time period.

Overview

Users specify a time delay. After the timer is done, the device will be automatically turned on or off based on its current on/off state. For example:

  • If the device is on now, it will be turned off after the timer is done.
  • If the device is off now, it will be turned on after the timer is done.

The time delay is one-time. Once the duration is set, the delay timer will run immediately. The remaining time will be synced to the app every 30 seconds. If a device has multiple switch channels such as 5-outlet power strips, users can set a time delay for each channel.

Principle

The delay timer is implemented with a specific component. A time delay can be set for each switch channel and the remaining time is synced to the app every 30 seconds.
