TuyaOS is designed with a modular approach, with capabilities covering basic services, security, networking middleware, and various IoT services. Built on top of TuyaOS capabilities, TuyaOS Thread Development Framework is a set of SDKs used to build Thread products for different specifications and scenarios.

Unified APIs and a variety of components allow you to focus on building applications with a consistent development experience, without taking care of specific implementations.

Capabilities

Capability	Description
Initialization	After a device is powered on and started, it calls a range of APIs to initialize the hardware environment, TuyaOS software, and applications.
Pairing	Pair Matter over Thread devices using Tuya-enabled apps and third-party Matter-enabled apps, such as Google Home, Apple Home, and Amazon Alexa.
Sharing	Share Matter over Thread devices across Tuya-enabled apps and third-party Matter-enabled apps.
Firmware update	Support OTA updates using Matter’s Bulk Data Exchange (BDX) protocol. When an update is available, the device can install it via OTA.
Reset	Support local reset and remote reset. A reset restores a device to its original settings. To pair a device again, it must be reset first.
