Device Pairing

To pair a Matter device, scan its QR code with a compatible mobile app or manually enter the pairing code. After the mobile app connects to the device over Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), it retrieves the device’s certificate to verify the Matter certification. Once the device is verified, the mobile app will configure it with Thread and Matter information.

After the device is connected to the OpenThread Border Router (OTBR) on the gateway through the Thread network, the mobile app requests the basic information from the device over a secure channel. This information is then used to register the device with the cloud, which provides a response.
