Before beginning TuyaOS development, learn about the two development modes to determine the most suitable approach for building your product.

Development modes

TuyaOS development

Tuya has adapted programs to chip platforms. You can directly focus on application development using the provided development kit. If you choose TuyaOS OS development, you only need to develop applications. For more information, see TuyaOS OS development.

TuyaOS SDK development

If you do not find the desired development platform, you can choose the SDK development mode. Tuya provides the type development kit that has the TuyaOS Kernel built in. You need to adapt to the target chip platform first before application development. If you choose TuyaOS SDK development, besides application development, you also need to develop a board support package (BSP). For more information, see TuyaOS SDK development.
