OTA Update

This topic describes the OTA update feature. Beacon mesh chips with flash memory support OTA updates through a gateway, generally used before shipment.

Features

• Applying only to beacon mesh chips with flash memory, such as PHY6252.
• Dual backup.
• Gateway required.
• Updating a 20 KB firmware may take up to 10 minutes.

Functional testing

Prerequisites

• Prepare a gateway that supports beacon mesh OTA updates.
• Your developer account owns a beacon mesh device that supports OTA updates.
• You have uploaded a firmware update to the Developer Platform and configured an OTA update.

Procedure

1. Add both the gateway and beacon mesh device to the same home under the same account.
2. Move the beacon mesh device to the gateway.
3. Upload the firmware update to the Developer Platform and configure an OTA update.
4. Check for updates on the Tuya Smart app and start the update.
