Battery status report

  • Q: What is the logic of battery power reporting?

A: Because the battery voltage is not collected in real time, the program will control the device to collect the battery voltage in a non-busy state (that is, a relatively quiet period such as a non-transmitting data state or a state that has just been awakened), and report the latest battery voltage every 4 hours Collect the percentage corresponding to the voltage value once to the cloud and display it on the app at the same time.

App panel

Historical data

  • Q: How long can the sensor history data be stored?

A: By default, it supports free 7-day cloud recording, and the maximum number is 1000.

  • Q: How long can the sensor curve data be stored, and why is it sometimes not displayed?

A: The current curve data is statistical data, and there is no limit for the time being; if it is not displayed, you need to submit a ticket on the Tuya IoT platform or contact the corresponding project manager to enable statistics. Secondly, the statistical curve will be displayed after a period of time after the device is reported.

  • Q: A certain DP of a device reports the same parameter multiple times, why can the report be true only for the first time?

A: If you need to report repeatedly, you can provide the PID to submit a ticket on the Tuya IoT platform or contact the corresponding project manager to open it and open the repeated report of some DPs under the PID through the background configuration.

Online and offline display

  • Q: After the device is powered off, how long will it appear offline on the app after the device is actually offline, and how long will it appear offline after the gateway is powered off and the network is disconnected?

A: The device fails to report for 3 breaths, and it takes a total of 12 hours to determine that it is offline; if the gateway is powered off or disconnected from the network, it will display offline on the app at the latest 3 minutes, and it will display online within 30 seconds after it is powered on again.

  • Q: The device is offline in the App. What is the reason for the device going online after the pinhole button is triggered?

A: The device is offline for reasons: the gateway is offline; the device is powered off; the communication distance between the device and the gateway is too far, and the gateway cannot read it.

Battery level display

  • Q: What is the content of the battery power report?

A: According to the configured voltage range, the device is mapped as a percentage, that is, the reported data DP content is 0-100, representing 0% to 100%; for example, when the device is configured from 2.5V to 3.0V, it means that when the device is working, the device will report when it collects 3.0V. 100%, the device will report 0% if it collects 2.5V, and the device will report 50% if it collects 2.75V; the voltage collected when the device is working (working voltage) is not equal to the voltage collected by the multimeter when the battery is removed (it is empty at this time), generally, the battery will be falsely high.

  • Q: How often will the battery power be reported?

A: By default, it will be reported every 4 hours. If you re-configure the network or press the network configuration button in the network state, the latest battery level will be reported immediately.

  • Q: Why cannot I receive device information?

A: Most batteries are re-powered, the battery fluctuates greatly, and data cannot be directly collected and reported directly (the error will be large). After 30 minutes after power-on, the battery data will be collected and reported again. It is recommended to use a new battery when replacing the battery.

  • Q: When I see the battery status change in the App interface, when will it show high, medium, and low?

A: At present, the all-in-one version of the panel prefers the U2 series; the U2 all-in-one version panel will directly display the battery power percentage at the setting entrance; the U1 all-in-one version panel percentage and status, 0-19% is the red battery column, and 20-100% is the green battery column; before Early plain style whole house series (not recommended), 0-10% is red battery column-low, 11-100% is gray battery column-high; in addition, when the electricity is first distributed on the network, the power is reported to 100%; gradually 30. The true value will be reported in minutes or 4 hours.

  • Q: When the app is pushed with a low battery, when will it be pushed?

A: Create a low-battery reminder on the IoT alarm platform, generally less than 20%; the content of the prompt recommends reminding users to replace the battery in time. When the battery is low, especially when it is less than 10%, the battery fluctuates abnormally and the reported data may be abnormal.

  • Q: Why does the battery power value fluctuate?

    A:

    • The battery itself is non-linear, especially button batteries, and some low-quality batteries.

    • When the radio frequency equipment is powered on and sends data, it will pull down the voltage, and some batteries will recover slowly, and the button battery will be at least 30 minutes or more.

    • The network status will also affect the reported data and life of the device. When the network is extremely poor, high-frequency networking will cause the battery voltage to drop rapidly.

    • 100% will be reported when the network is configured for the first time or when the power is turned on again. This time belongs to the initialization data.

    • After the occurrence of low power, there may be false alarms when the equipment is working, and the battery needs to be replaced in time.

    • When in use, the device is in a response state for a long time, working at high frequency, and the battery does not return to normal linearity during power collection. If the battery does not return to the normal value for a long time, the battery may discharge abnormally and the voltage cannot resume to the original state (especially the button battery).

App notification alert and phone message

  • Q: How to turn on the alarm switch?

A: In Me> Settings > App Message Notification, you can turn on or off the alarm switch of all devices. You can also choose to turn off the alarm push function of the specified device during the specified time period.

  • Q: Does the device support phone SMS notification function? Is there a fee and how to activate?

A: The phone SMS notification function can be activated through the app. It is necessary for the C-end user to choose whether to activate it. There are different packages for specific charges. For details, see the introduction on the “More Services” page in the app.

Basic hardware issues

Communication distance problem

  • Q: What is the communication distance between the device and the gateway?

A: The communication distance can be up to 20 meters when there is no physical wall blocking indoors; the communication distance can be up to 100 meters in an open space without obstruction.

Indicator problem

  • Q: When the device is working as expected, the indicator is always on.

A: By default, the indicator light is always on for 3 seconds after the product is powered on; if it does not light up, first confirm whether the battery power is sufficient, and secondly confirm whether the contact is good, if the above conditions are eliminated, please contact the after-sales service.

Battery problem

  • Q: How long is the battery life?

A: The temperature and humidity are collected every 5 minutes by default, and the CR2450 battery life is more than 1 year within 100 reports a day; if the collection frequency is less than 1 minute, or the report is more than 100 times a day, it is recommended to use AAA battery capacity and above.

  • Q: What type of battery support?

A: Ordinary battery 3.0V, such as 2 AA batteries, 2 AA batteries, CR123, CR2, etc.; If you use 3 AA batteries, AA batteries; or use rechargeable batteries, the hardware design requires a decompression circuit.

  • Q: Are there any other precautions for the battery?

A: Try to choose high-quality batteries and batteries with good discharge performance; high-frequency reporting occurs in the use scene, and avoid button batteries.

Equipment reporting rules

  • Q: What is the reporting rule of equipment?

A: After the network is successfully configured, all DP states are reported once, and then the power will be reported regularly, and other states will be reported when the DP changes.

  • Q: Sensor sampling mechanism?

A: The sensor is intermittently sampled, and the environment is sampled every 5 minutes by default. When the ambient temperature and humidity exceed the sensor’s preset temperature of 0.6 °C or the humidity threshold of 6%, the data will be reported, or the data will be synchronized to the App for 30 minutes.

How the indicator shows the distribution network and status

  • Q: How to judge whether the device is currently in a pairing state?

A: When you see the network indicator light 250mS continuously on and off alternately, it means that the device has entered the state of network distribution.

Installation environment requirements

  • Q: What are the requirements for the installation and use environment of the temperature and humidity sensor?

    A:

    • This product is only suitable for indoor use, and it is forbidden to install it outdoors.

    • It is forbidden to install in places with strong convection near air outlets, such as fans, windows, air-conditioning outlets, etc. Otherwise, the disturbance of hot airflow and the movement of people will cause inaccurate readings.

    • It is forbidden to install near the heat source.

    • Other reminders: Avoid rapid battery consumption or occasional triggering, and avoid installation in places with rapid temperature changes; for different temperature and humidity sensors, the data will have accuracy deviations of ±1 and humidity of ±6%.
