Certification laboratory

Tuya certification laboratory is responsible for the hardware quality inspection of smart home products. It is mainly engaged in testing of production compliance, electromagnetic compatibility, environmental reliability, mechanical reliability, and chemistry. The products involved mainly include smart cameras, sensors, locks, electrical products, lighting, home appliances, information technology, and more.

Overview

With the continuous development of the Tuya AI+loT platform, the laboratory has established a test and control program in accordance with CNAS-CL01: 2018, so that the laboratory’s quality management system can continue to operate effectively and improve continuously to ensure inspection accuracy and effectiveness. The laboratory conducts regular technical exchanges with international authoritative certification organizations such as TÜV SÜD and Bureau Veritas (BV), improves its testing technology level, and always pays attention to the development of national standards.

Production compliance

Production compliance refers to the product safety compliance with the laws, regulations, and standards of the place of sale throughout the entire life cycle of the product from design to sales and end-users. The product safety compliance includes not only product safety in the ordinary sense, but also product electromagnetic compatibility and radiation, energy conservation and environmental protection, food hygiene, and other requirements. It should be more than something that a requirement, a standard, a certificate, and a test report can replace or explain, instead it should be a product safety responsibility and activity that runs through the product life cycle. The laboratory capabilities are as follows:

Test item Test standard
Dielectric strength test (withstand voltage) GB 8898, GB 4943.1, GB 4706.1, and IEC 62368-1

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

EMC refers to the capability of a device or system to operate in compliance with the requirements in its electromagnetic environment and not produce intolerable electromagnetic interference to any device in its environment. EMC includes two requirements:

  • The electromagnetic interference generated by the device to the environment during normal operation cannot exceed a certain limit.
  • The appliance has a certain degree of susceptibility to electromagnetic interference in the environment, namely electromagnetic sensitivity.

Environment reliability

Environmental reliability refers to the capability of a product to complete a specified function within a specified time under specified conditions. In the process of design and application, the product is constantly affected by itself and the external climate environment and mechanical environment, yet still needs to be able to work normally. Therefore, it needs to be verified with test devices.
