This topic describes FAQs about smart switch modules.
Q: Does the smart switch module support an external rocker switch?
The smart switch module supports two types of external switches with three states. You can modify the type of external switch on the app to adapt to different application scenarios. The following three states are included:
- Rocker switch: Take effect after flipping. Every time the rocker is pressed, the load state changes instantly.
- Rocker switch: Sync the state. The switch ON/OFF position is in sync with the load status. A light turns on only if the switch is in the ON position.
- Self-resetting switch: After you press and release the switch, the switch returns to the initial position, and the load state is changed once.
Q: How many methods to reset the pairing state are there for the smart switch module?
Three reset methods are suitable for different application environments. You can choose the desired one to suit your needs during the product development stage.
- Press and hold the master control button: The smart switch module has a master control button. You can set up to reset the smart switch module after pressing and holding the master control button for x seconds. This method applies to scenarios where the product is easy to operate.
- Flip the external switch multiple times: For a smart switch module with an external switch, you can flip the external switch multiple times to reset the smart switch module, without disassembling.
- Power on and off the device multiple times: You can cut off the device power supply through the switch and reset it multiple times. This method is convenient for scenarios where there is no external switch and it is not easy to operate.
Q: I choose to perform pairing by power on and off, but the device still cannot enter the pairing state after power on and off many times. Why?
Due to the storage characteristics of capacitors in the circuit, when the power is turned on and off quickly, the external power supply might have been disconnected, but the module still has residual power and is not completely powered off. In this case, when the power is turned on again, the module does not accumulate the times of power off. Therefore, you can wait for a few seconds after power off, and then power on the module after the module is completely powered off.
