This topic describes how to replace a credential.

Overview

To solve the overstock problem in a cost-efficient way, the Tuya IoT Development Platform supports credential replacement.

That is, for the overstock reason, you cannot use some of the modules purchased on the Platform. In this case, based on the quantity of delivered modules, you can pick up new licenses of the same quantity for free. This operation applies to the license orders. If you have picked up licenses, you can apply for new licenses with the same quantity as that of the picked-up licenses.

Procedure

Find target order for credential or license replacement

  • Production orders

    1. On the Tuya IoT Development Platform, in the left navigation bar, choose Purchase > Order > Purchase > Production Order.

    2. In Production Order, select Order completed from the drop-down list of Order Status.

    3. Click Item Type and select Module or License from the drop-down box.

    4. (Optional) In the search bar, you can search for the target order by contract No., product ID, product name, order No. and buyer, and then click Search.
      For any production order that supports downloading new licenses, you can see the button Download New License.

  • License pickup list

    1. On the Tuya IoT Development Platform, in the left navigation bar, select Purchase > Order > Purchase > License Pickup List.

    2. In License Pickup List, click Order Status and select Completed.

    3. Click Delivery Mode and select Credential from the drop-down list.

    4. (Optional) If you remember the start and the end time of the order, you can select dates for fuzzy search.

    5. In the search bar, you can search for the target order by contract No., product ID, product name, order No., and buyer, and then click Search.
      For any production order that supports downloading new licenses, you can see the button Download New License.

Pick up new credential

  1. Click Download New License and enter the page for picking up credentials.

  2. Enter the pickup quantity and click Pick Up. Then you enter the page for confirming the pickup information.

  3. Check the pickup information and select a delivery mode. If all the information is correct, you can click Pick Up.

After picking up, you can click License Download History to view the pickup history.

Download credential

After the order is completed, you have two ways to download the credential.

  • Click License Download History > Download Credential to get new credentials.
  • On the homepage of the Tuya IoT Development Platform, in the left navigation bar, select Purchase > Order > License Pickup List.
    1. In the drop-down list of Delivery Mode, select License Replacement.
    2. Click Download Credential to pick up new licenses.

FAQs

Which order can I choose to download new licenses?
The completed module order and the license order whose delivery mode is credential.

How many new licenses can I download by one order?

Available licenses = licenses to be picked up - new picked-up licenses

That is, the maximum quantity of new licenses that you can download is the quantity to be picked up in the original order. If you have already picked up some new licenses, the quantity shall be deducted.

For example, if you place a license order for 1,000 licenses, 600 of which have been picked up, now you want to download new licenses to flash into the module, you can pick up 600 licenses at most. You can pick up the left licenses many times in any quantity. If you pick up the left 400 licenses, you can pick up 400 more new licenses.

Which product can I choose for the new licenses?

The product must meet two conditions. The license price of the product must be the same as that of the original order. The license must support the delivery mode of the credential.

How can I flash the new licenses?

After you pick up and download new licenses, you can contact the Tuya customer service to obtain new tools for flashing.
