This topic describes how to test the maximum communication range of an infrared product in practice.
After pairing the infrared product indoors, increase the distance between the infrared product and the electrical appliance, meanwhile, keep testing the device with the Smart Life app.
Since different placements result in different communication ranges, it is required to test the maximum communication ranges in different directions and angles of the infrared product on the same horizontal plane.
An unobstructed indoor environment.
Maintain consistent surroundings since it has an enormous effect on the communication range of the infrared product.
Complete the pairing of the infrared product.
Place the infrared product and the air conditioner control board on the same horizontal plane with a ground clearance of 1 meter.
Keep increasing the distance between the infrared product and the air conditioner control board. Meanwhile, keep controlling the device with the Smart Life app. It is shown as follows.
Determine the maximum communication range.
Reach a point at which the control success rate is approximately 20% and beyond which the control loses. The distance between the point and the electrical appliance is considered as the maximum communication range.
Change the product angle as shown below and repeat the steps 3 and 4. Test the maximum communication ranges of each side and angle.
Record the test data in a table like this.
Distance (m) | Product A | Product B | Product C | Product D | Product E |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Side A | |||||
Side B | |||||
Side C | |||||
Side D | |||||
Side E | |||||
Inclination of 45° |
