This chapter describes a range of Sub-GHz modules provided by Tuya. Sub-GHz is an ideal technology choice for wireless applications requiring long-range and low power consumption.
Sub-GHz networking gets its name from the fact that the radio frequency is lower than 1 GHz. Unlike Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which both use the same 2.4 GHz band everywhere in the world, the frequency bands used for sub-GHz networking are different in various parts of the world. For example, the Americas, most of Asia, and Oceania use 915 MHz as the center frequency whereas Europe, Africa, and other parts of Asia use 868 MHz.
The Sub-G modules, built with Tuya’s proprietary communication technology, offer a stable connection in complex electromagnetic environments while consuming low power. This makes them ideal for devices that require long-term operation.
