Template v6.4.0 Update Instructions

This topic describes the updates of the OEM app for Smart Life v6.4.0. This app version was released on April 10, 2025. You can integrate the updates into your app.

App update

Optimized room control and management

• Supported visualized control of rooms. When cameras are configured in a room, users can directly view real-time video feeds within the room interface.

  

• Optimized room switching experience. Users can now switch between rooms more efficiently using room groups.

  

• Optimized room settings page. This version features a more intuitive room management interface, enabling users to quickly edit devices and scenes within each room.

  

Optimized pairing experience

• Pairing protocol: Added near-field communication (NFC) and power line communication (PLC) pairing methods to provide users with more convenient setup options and more stable device connections.

• Device capability: Plug & play capability has been migrated from UUID-based to PID-based identification, providing a more convenient way to label the device capabilities.

• Interaction optimization: The UI of the pairing polling page and QR code scanning page has been enhanced to provide more intuitive and detailed pairing guidance.

  

App update

Optimized the device latitude and longitude permission compliance

User authorization is required to access geolocation data (latitude/longitude) for device location, per regulatory policies.

• App: For devices requiring location information, a Device Location entry has been added to the details page, allowing users to set device locations and manage permissions.

  

• Platform: For devices requiring location information (positioning permission is needed to obtain latitude/longitude data), follow these configuration steps:

  1. Open the Product Development page on the Tuya Developer Platform.

  2. Select a product and click Develop in the Operation column.

  3. Navigate to Product Configuration > App Configuration > Device Details Page Configuration, click Settings to manage Device Location.
